In terms of visible, well … I got bills and so if I could wake up tomorrow and be set in terms of all those bills for life haha. Can I get an amen? Upside is I’ve been shopping at our local Chinatown and you can get produce there pretty affordably plus who doesn’t enjoy shopping amongst random cats, dogs and rats the size of dachshunds haha. But seriously, it’s a fun time.

In terms of invisible help … my faith has really been shaken by the response of Christians to Covid-19 and especially the vaccines. So if there could be some kind of sign from the Lord that like ugh … I don’t even know, just have no idea how to process all that. I was amongst the first to get vaccinated when they opened it up to more people and I still wear a mask … I do all that because I don’t want to be the reason someone you know dies. That the Christians around me aren’t ugh thinking that same thought of concern for others is ugh yeah.

Because so many things called to me, I was unable to answer the question yesterday…I have read others’ answers, and there is really nothing I can add.

Whatever brings me into presence in the now is enriching. After that it’s up to the moment as to how “hearted” I am.

That unique human condition of wanting to know what is on the other side… of the line, the horizon, the shadows, whatever, keeps a background burn aglow. When I think I have had enough desert, a wafer catches my eye. It is a big space, much to see and explore and so little time (in this lifetime) to do it. But I have come to savor the here and now, this very moment, along the way. Oh, I think I might still be hungry. Did someone say wafers?

The leaves and stems outside my home are showing bits of red, and endless gradations and patterns of fall colour. They remind me of the inner and outer season of life I am in, and invite me to surrender, let go, commit, relax into and celebrate the journey …

I would love to feel more connection with the ancestors, for guidance, companionship, wisdom, laughter, ease and joy …

There is just so much visible help around us.. all we have to do is open our eyes and heart and see and feel. As for invisible; I believe one must have faith in some form of higher power that is present to give us guidance, support and a purpose to live with compassion and love knowing that there is more to living than only physically being..

I was recently re-reading some entries from my 2009 journal and this question reminded me of an entry I titled “A God Spot.” It shares an experience that is a reminder of the invisible help, the free and flowing grace that is always available in the present moment. I share it below:

    October 28, 09 A God Spot

I read a meditation by Norris Burke from the Faith Streams Archives on the Internet this morning and he used an expression I really like. He spoke of “God spots—places where you find God.” He said his Chaplain friend, Tamara Chin, says he should mark them and “go there often.” So this morning I will share a God Spot that was a profound blessing in my life.

In January of 2004, I called my favorite uncle to wish him a happy birthday. When we spoke his voice was steady but pained. He and my aunt had just arrived home from the hospital. He blurted out the words, “We just got home. Your aunt has been sent home to die.”

He sensed my confusion and explained that he had taken her to a big city orthopedic specialist via ambulance due to a fall. Her hip was broken and the orthopedic specialist said it could not be set. It would never heal. Her body was shutting down. She was a dialysis patient and the doctor withdrew her kidney treatment and told the family that nothing could medically be done for her. She would most likely die within two weeks.

When I hung up the phone, I thought: This is the ultimate “letting go” that we all face when our bodies can no longer house the energy of life. I decided I would do a distance Reiki treatment for her, hoping it would help her “let go.”

Reiki is a form of energy healing so it can be done from a distance. I consider it a form of prayer. That night, I set my intention to be an instrument of love and peace. I held this intention between the palms of my hands and claimed a connection with her personal energy field. I felt the energy building and moving in my hands and then it happened. My whole body was zapped with so much loving energy that I have no words to describe it. I knew she had “let go” and she was letting me know. She had passed over. She was at peace. I gave thanks and closed my energy field. I looked at the clock. It was around midnight. I said to myself, I will get a call in the morning to tell me she passed during the night. And I did.

My aunt was a very loving woman, a wonderful mother, and had a very positive influence on my life. What I experienced the night of her death is very comforting to me. Her death taught me how to live. It still reminds me that fear is a waste of time. It still reminds me that “letting go” is the key to being fully alive. And if we are fully alive, not fighting, not fleeing just “being” fully human, responding instead of reacting to life, loving and sharing instead of blaming and shaming, we can face death without regret.

I return to this God spot in my life experience often and hope that I, too, will be a God spot in many lives and that when death calls me, I will be fully present to the adventure, the ultimate “letting go.” If what I felt the night my aunt “let go” is what accepting death is about, then it must make for a glorious ride.

I think I could live more wholeheartedly if I could see and be with my kids and grandkids more frequently. Sometimes I feel like I don’t even know them anymore since COVID. It would help me to live more wholeheartedly to sing wholeheartedly in worship along with a full choir accompanied by a big pipe organ and grand piano. It is helping me to be in a book/Bible study, even if it is virtual, to have my mind engaged with new ideas and presence of the Spirit. It is helping me to have started delivering Meals on Wheels – to feel like I am contributing, making a difference is the messy time in which we are living. It would help me to have someone ask me how I am doing and really want to hear what I have to say. I ask others all the time and then sit and listen for hours. I really don’t have anyone who listens to me.

I, too, relate to this -always being the one asking how everyone is and not having it being reciprocated.

A Meaningful Prayer without words – Exercise [ MIP to do every morning and night ]

Feeling the Christ Logos in your Being -Self it will be easier for you to understand that …… you are Life .

Close your eyes take a deep breaths…… And feel your material body from your toes to your head.

Feel your whole body……… The soles of your feet……. The toes ……..the legs…………. The knees…………. The pelvic area……….. The chest………. The hands……….. And the head.

Feel intensely that you are in this [ physical / material ] body.[2:20]….Pause to [3; 00]

Mentally see that a … light…[ white – blue nebula ] .. begins to radiate from the point of the solar plexus [ 9 ] . It slowly fills the whole area of the solar plexus….

And it casts off any strange vibrations that is giving the phenomena of illness in your material body.

    ……………… long pause.. [4; 30]…………

Simultaneously this ..sweet [white – blue ] sky-blue light.. is filling your whole body.

    …………… Long pause [5; 10]…………

The Holy Spirit [ and the lords of the elements ] uses this sweet [ white – blue ] light to build your body.

Feel within your body this .. sweet [ white – blue -] light.. and the pulse of life.

The Holy Spirit creates this pulse of life, not you.

This pulse of life is in your body……

you are something else…. you are… something greater.

you are The Life…….. Try to realize it.

    [7; 50]

This body is built up for you… You have to love it and respect it.

It is yours [ on loan ],…… [but] …….not yourself. [8:30]

you are The Life … Separate the pulse of life ……..which is under the care of the Holy Spirit…..from yourself as Life

    …………long pause………………………….[10;00]……

Now your solar plexus and your whole body radiates ….pure light…[ staying blue or changing to brilient white]] [[[[also I will connect this with the 6 pointed star in the 6 pointed star. [[M 25 ]]

Keep it like this always. [11;00]

Now mentally give thanks to the Holy Spirit……….

And feel the Christ Logos in your Being-Self………

    …… Long pause………. [12; 10]

By Feeling the Christ Logos in your Being -Self it will be easier for you to understand that …… you are Life .

[13; 20] Take your time to feel your material body and your human existence again.

I feel like I live pretty wholeheartedly, but it’s always nice to have the sun, the moon, birds, butterflies, my growing fig tree, my husband’s hand holding mine, the cat’s head nudging me, the dog bringing a toy with a helicopter wagging tail… these all fill me with gratitude and help guide the way I live. Along with the ‘invisible’ – God, Spirit, the Universe, the energy we all share. I just took in a big breath of it, and that is a great way to start the day 🙂

I am learning to tone it down. I have lived in overdrive for decades and am very enthusiastic, plus being autistic, I over feel everything. It’s exhausting. So, I am learning to not have to show up or everything, all the time, with mega energy. I am learning to simmer and not boil over…

Faith and hope, never too much of that around. Generosity of spirit with me as the recipient especially from unexpected quarters.

But, I lament the loss of, and deeply long for the return of a muse. Any muse will do! They are like a dance partner that brings out the best moves and conjures the rhythm in me, like the ideal rower in a double shell who sets the pace and inspires me to push through. The hiking partner who knows the path, the guide whose expression of childlike delight breeds enthusiasm within me. With them around I forget to eat, to sleep as the gates from the spirit are breached and my hand, emboldened, commits it to paper and there I see a revealed story that needed to be told.

Wow, Howie, that is absolutely beautiful. I cut and pasted that out and sent it to my wife. I will offer my prayers for you today that God should send you a muse and in gratitude for mine.

Gregoire aren’t they amazing! Rowing in the morning in the intracoastal I am visited by a dolphin. I say ‘a’ when who knows, but it is the kind of visitation, a similar genre, to a muse isn’t it! I can invite implore and yet I know the attention is fleeting (at least in my experience so far) and that I must accept the gift as it is in the moment without attachment and oh so very much full of gratitude.
