What one thing can I do today to make a positive difference for others?

Give some of your time to another, whether it is to stop to have a chat, offer a smile, a lending ear or offering to help them in some small or big way is priceless.
After reading today’s quote, “Reality is always falling apart. In this fleeting situation, the only thing that makes sense is for us to reach out to one another.” by PEMA CHÖDRÖN, I emailed my friend to see if she wanted me to order the Costco shirts she wants, so we don’t have to worry if they’ll still be at Costco when we get around to gong there.
I can actively listen, critically assess their concerns, and stay focused in between clients to prepare for the next. I can be more inclusive in my social circles. I can reach out to out-of-touch friends.
Love today’s quote:“Reality is always falling apart. In this fleeting situation, the only thing that makes sense is for us to reach out to one another.” Pema Chodron Many years ago I was part of a retreat team and our spiritual advisor began all planning sessions with these words: “There is nothing more real than a relationship.” This morning, I took the time to listen to Jack Kornfied’s meditation on grief. It left me feeling connected to the whole world. Meditation breeds compassion. It promotes a healthy relationship with self and others. It’s something I can do daily that hopefully helps me to be there for others.
I’m going to write “What one thing can I do?” on a stick-um and put it on my monitor. I’m behind on a number of small-but-still-dangling things that I could move along if I did just one thing, and that would make a positive difference for the others who are waiting on those items. I tend to want to do all the next steps, not just the next one, and that can make me freeze and not tackle the thing because I just made it too big in my own mind.
Ican think of anything, but then I don’t know if it makes a positive difference for the other person. I think I’ll just be myself. And, I like to smile at others. Like to help if help is needed.

Smile! Being friendly to others is a great way to brighten someone else’s day. …
Help people when they are in need …
I remind people they matter. I believe many people think they are insignificant.

Be concise in all emails – time is precious!
Have a positive outlook. It can be contagious!
Be available to listen with intention.

The coffee table is quite a mess, so I think I will help my mom out by cleaning it off today.
I like this–so tangible and I can imagine that feeling of relief to discover a tidy space in place of a messy space.
Show up in whatever way I can – a smile, a kind word or gesture, attentive listening or a compliment.
Be kind, and that can be something different for everyone I meet today, but to actively practice being kind is a gift I can give.
Pray for all and smile at everyone I see (I couldn’t choose just one).
Be present and just listen, offering help and support
Love them deeply with my heart and soul.
To be fully present when the moment arrives. To listen more than I speak. And as the occasion warrants to say, “thank you.”
smile:)
to be there when they need us
Pray
Be there, open and present and reply to whatever needs and situations with all my heart.
