The opportunity is for us all to heal ourselves in order to contribute to the greater good. Focusing on self; we can influence and inspire, but cannot force real change in another.

These are difficult times to live through, but it’s very apparent that our world is transforming right before our eyes. I feel more self-aware and cognizant of my trauma and my responsibility to heal it, regardless of how it got there.

I can not speak for anybody {except} myself & for me- it’s knowing my attitude and actions CAN make a difference towards positiveness & peacefulness & universal love.
Knowing that when I do my part, I am a piece of the big puzzle and the bigger picture = the world.

Awaken to the violence woven into the fabric of humanity. Look at our language – winning, strategic advantage, first mover advantage, profit taking, competitive takeovers, taking the high ground … Every indigenous tribe led with a culture of the collective good and personal responsibility within the tribe towards that mission. Personal prosperity was measured by the prosperity of the tribe. There were no wealthy few in the tribe. We are one tribe on this planet.

To turn to one another with cooperation, understanding, and empathy. We can only get through this together, we cannot be thinking as only individuals.

The opportunity in this and every moment, is to realize that we are all connected and there is no “other”. Like any crisis, the pandemic has exposed the best and the worst in our behaviors and as usual, there is the opportunity to exploit our fears. How we choose to react, with fear, love, kindness, or hate, is the opportunity.

I see this as an opportunity for service to others rather than service to self. Whether it’s sharing words of positivity and encouragement, or donating blood, there’s an opportunity to serve.

This pandemic has brought people together for a common cause even though as there always been people who no matter what will contradict the facts. It’s taught me to really see how individuals treat stress differently. Even though I don’t agree with the minority of anti pandemic people I try to think about why they are believing this. It’s also taught me how much of an introvert I am and that being so is a blessing. I do enjoy the alone time but still reach out to help others.

The opportunity is everywhere. We are all called, in some way, to make a difference. Not everyone needs to do the same thing, in the same way. Find a cause close to your heart, and just start there. Want to make a difference? Start locally. Too intimidating? Write letters to organizations or politicians. Not one to stick your neck out? That is fine, Find a cause and make a difference. Many small acts lead to bigger things. Love animals? Find out where in your area you can help animal shelters and volunteer or make donations. Love trees and nature? Find an organization that is making a difference and help out. Can’t do any of that? Pray. Really. Pray that they will be guided to those that can help. Joining forces with others can make a change, even in a small way…
I know of a man who is very introverted, and went to a dog shelter here in town and asked if they needed help. He started walking the homeless dogs one day a week. He now walks them three days a week. Bob has made new friends, both two and four legged, and has adopted one of the dogs. He is thinking of doing more for the shelter in some way because he sees their needs better now. Another friend loves to garden. She volunteered at the local botanic gardens. After a few years, she decided to take some classes on horticulture, and soon will be educating others on how we can all help our planet through sustainability.
    It all matters.

Maintaining equanimity is the opportunity in this global moment. We are deluged with fear-based news and opinions based on highly questionable sources. Being on the brink of war has happened before in our history more times than we know. Impermanence is the law of the cosmos. The planet, politics, our own lives change every second, and nothing stays the same. This global moment, as are all moments, is an opportunity to ‘witness’ what is “in the world.” We need not be “of” the world and obsess. Let us not give in to fear but remain calm within and know that ‘this, too, will pass.’

The global pandemic that we are all living with right now, still, has been tragic and deadly on so many fronts. Yet, as we witnessed the virus jumping from country to country, spanning oceans and continents, if it has proven anything, whether we want to embrace it or not, is that we are a global community and our very survival as a species will eventually depend on how we care for, or care not, for each other regardless of the soil we call home.

It is so sad that there are those who are so power hungry and full of greed that they would put the world into jeopardy. It’s not only humans who will suffer but the whole of the natural world gets damaged when greed, power and hate rise to the surface.
The opportunity here is for us to be channels for peace and love.
Be the change we want to see in the world.
One small spark can become a flame for peace.

Not my own words, but this appealed to me. At this global moment, we live in a crisis. A Chinese proverb says “Crisis is an opportunity”,“Who is not afraid of chaos and destruction? But what are we afraid of? If you look at nature, you see that dying, destruction and chaos ensure renewal, nourishment and growth. And we humans are also part of nature. We are nature and therefore it is no different with us.”🌍🌎🌏

Thank you, dear Christine! I remembered the Chinese saying about ‘interesting times’ and googled it:
For centuries the Chinese used an ancient curse: “May you live in interesting times!”
