HOW DOES GRATEFULNESS HELP ME FEEL MORE CONNECTED TO OTHERS? I am able to identify the beauties of life that we individuals tend to neglect and over look. By reflecting and being grateful to myself, my loved ones, my story/life, my struggles, The Creator and so much more, I have noticed when I am peaceful my energy spreads and influences others to be appreciative and positive; even if our blessings/gifts may be different our appreciation energy are similar.

Seems to be a pre-condition. I notice when I fall into a cynical closed mood rather than my open-hearted grateful self I’m not very connected to others at all.

It is definitely easier to go to work and talk to customers when I’m in a good mood. Gratefulness helps me appreciate my job and when I talk to everyone I meet there I’m able to make others feel happy and comfortable. The more I appreciate, the more I can give love to the people in my life because I feel so satisfied with what I have.

It plants my feet, heart, mind and soul on planet earth. This feeling of gratefulness connects me to all in my human family. All over the world and beyond.

When you ask questions about gratitude and people we don’t know, it really makes me aware of how interconnected we all are even if I don’t personally know all those people out there. When I think about people I do know, then I think the shared experiences that lead to gratitude make me feel the connection – be it good or bad events that have led to it. And that connection reminds me that we are all human and “no man is an island”. It is good to feel part of something bigger than me!

A few questions were asked – a line of enquiry, if you will. Who am I really? Who is even asking? Who is looking from this side? Of course, the seer cannot see self, so it became an experiencing thing. Realization dawned and that opened an abundant wellspring of gratitude. But of course, words cannot make sense of any of this, so perhaps I should just share my recipe for baked potatoes…

When I feel grateful for the interdependent web of existence of which we are all a part, I feel a sense of connection to other life forms, including my fellow human beings. This kind of gratitude reminds me to remain in right relationship with the other parts of the web and to mend the parts of the web that are broken, at least as much as possible.

Being grateful means accepting others for what they provide to me whether for being thankful for their love and support or for their negative interaction with me. I try to look at any negative exposures as life lessons and to look at why the reason why they are and their affect on me. I try to be compassionate to everyone what influence they have on me, yet do not let myself become a doormat .. Be proud of who I am, and remember how awesome I am and my self worth. I am worthy.1

when I’m grateful to someone I feel closer to them because they would have done something for me. This kindness to me draws me closer to them. My gratefulness shows them my genuineness.

My gratefulness is often gratefulness toward someone for something. Even if it’s more a gratefulness for my wonderful current life, it comes with the knowledge that so many have lives that are not wonderful, in so many ways, and compassion for them.

I think when I share gratefulness, others appreciate it. And of course, when I’m grateful FOR others, I feel connected to them.

I am fortunate to have a large circle of friends, all of whom I am deeply grateful for. Today a big group of us are going to see the new movie that my grandson is in–I am so grateful for the support and love this group of friends has shown him over the years; they have filled in the gaps that his parents were not able to.

My partner and I walked the dogs around a lake last night. He and I were exhausted from our work weeks. But instead of complaining about our tiredness, we talked about why we worked so hard: for each other and the future we’re building together. It felt good to reframe hard work. It got us present to why we’re doing what we’re doing.

It helps me acknowledge our mutual interdependence…. Today I am grateful for my late mother. It’s the one year anniversary of her death today and I’m going off to take care of my two little grandchildren all day. Ah, the circle of life… the connections … the gratitude!

When I am grateful, I am open. I am positive, and I see the world and all in it as good(OK. Maybe not all in it, but close!)
It changes my attitude, and I am open to connecting with others. I can listen better, be compassionate, feel safe and secure.
I am free to love all beings(that doesn’t mean I like all behaviors).
I think gratefulness-for me- is part of the Greatest Love…it’s how I get there! It opens me up to connect with that spark of Everlasting that I believe is in everyone and everything…to connect with that I need to be open….gratefulness helps me do that….
You know, this question has caused me to really think this morning….deeply….that was not my plan as I have a busy day, and I wasn’t even going to answer it because I have a gazillion things to do, but guess what? I am grateful! Anytime something can help my old brain to think this deeply is a good thing….it sweeps the cobwebs out, and lets the sunshine in! Enjoy your day and blessings to you all.

It reminds me that Life (with a capital L) is either All or Nothing. Gratefulness is making the choice to be alive not just to exist. Creation is the expression of a Mystery in search of Itself. It reminds me that there is no Us and Them. It provides a perspective that seeks harmony. within and without.

I have really missed you all!!!! This is an easy one to answer. For some reason this app days ago would no longer allow me to comment for the daily question. I could read you all’s responses but I couldn’t leave one. I quickly began to troubleshoot. No luck. I ended up creating another sign in. Even with the new one, I could not respond. I became upset and very bothered. I’ve been going to the app and still reading you all’s responses. Today I’m super happy that my sign in worked!!!!Gratefulness helps me to magnify how valuable you all’s experiences are and mine with you. I literally missed connecting with you. Thanks for being regulars. I share quite often you all’s responses with my family. In a sense I feel we are family in a way too. Have a beautiful day fam.

What a bummer, Amber! Those things make gratefulness difficult, don’t they?? I’m surprised at how often I have to Login to gratefulness, and I forget that I can’t click on where it tells me to Login – I have to go to the icon in the corner. And I use a login with one of my unusual email addresses, for some reason. May you be able to access gratefulness easily now!

Gratitude helps me look for the gifts others bring to the connection, whatever that connection might be. When I can find that, and be grateful, it frees up tensions that might otherwise get in the way of making what could otherwise be an appreciated human connection.

It makes me to realize that we are part of one driving force “Mother Nature” and to be truly under her care is to be truly thankful for. She the one who nurture us from within and allow us to see the same from others too…

It feels like meeting others, animals and nature and all things also on heart´s level, a humble recognition of what is and of what is given, and of being interconnected. Gratefulness is appreciation and meeting in joy, and I believe that this expression of loving kindness nourishes not only the ones directly concerned but also all around. A hug, a humble bow and a wish for a joyful day today to all of you who share and visit here.

Gratitude, can be best expressed when it’s shared with others. Just as self-love can help us to discover ourselves gratitude asks us 2 find the good in others. It is a recognition that all things in life material, emotional,, and supernatural are gifts from God intended as his will in our lives.

Well, as I’ve studied, gratefulness produces dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. These all contribute to the feelings of closeness, connection, and happiness. I’ve observed many times that if I aim sincere gratitude toward another soul, I often feel fantastic. It’s wonderful to help another to feel appreciated and seen. Sometimes they respond in kind too, as it is contagious. Similar to the boomerang principle of what you put out comes back. You don’t give to get, for the very act of offering it is enough, but it often produces beautiful byproducts. Thus, I could argue that gratitude is its own reward.

Practicing gratefulness, and being grateful, in my experience at least, begins as a practice, which in time morphs into a mindset before eventually becoming part of the fiber of who I am as a person. Once there, how could I not feel more connected to the people I see and interact with every day? Whether it’s the panhandlers I see on the road, or my doctor, mechanic, barber, folks on this site, or the cop in line ahead of me at the coffee shop, we are all in motion, all becoming, and in need of one another.

The connection is in some way a manifestation of my acknowledgement of an Other. There are some similar attitudes that work the same dynamically yet have very different feelings and outcomes, like resentment and anger, to name a few. But this energetic ‘nodding’ through gratitude is recognition of kinship and the positive aspect of it is in my experience comforting. It speaks of partnership which has some beneficial elements. I think in some ways we all crave to belong. And gratitude is my way of almost asserting my belonging.
