I am definitely an ambitious person. I’m always striving to be the best person that I’m capable of and I want the best for myself. One of my biggest dreams is to reach financial freedom and security. I didn’t have this growing up and I deserve to feel this type of security. Also, when I have kids, I don’t want them to have to go through what I went through. Although I’m still young, I already have a credit card and a savings account so I know I’m on the right track. Another long-awaited dream of mine is to live in New York City. And this absolutely will happen, I’ll make sure of it.

The one in which, through God’s leading, I overcome my selfishness consistently enough to allow others to be able to trust me without question.

The legendary speech of Martin Luther King jr. comes to mind, which has had an impact on me since young. It comes down to do what I can to help reduce suffering wherever it comes to meet me and so possibly make this world a little better place for all.

That at the end of my day (each day and as a collective whole ) my dream is like prayer that hopes I will have left life a little better than I found it.

The dream to walk in the footsteps that God would want me to do. The dream of grateful living and the willingness to surrender life’s expectations. The dream to follow my heart with every breath I take. The dream to have faith in the universe and LET GO! The dream to marry the woman who makes me better and to raise children who make my heart melt. The dream to live a life I am proud of.
    And so it is

That we can save animals, botany and humans from climate change extinctions and suffering. That we as a global community carefully keep our EARTH from harm. Together do all we can to save this incredible planet from human destruction and become good human planet caretakers. To keep us all vibrant and healthy. This dream is in me and I have hope that together we can.

That there is an awakening… a broad scale seeing of the differentiation between the little self and the big self. The little one’s knowledge is the ending of wonder. The Big One’s knowledge is the beginning of wonder. The little one is heady and knowing and smart. This one will buy knowledge at the expense of mystery every time, and sooner or later it gives them a splitting headache. The Big One buys mystery at the expense of knowledge till all that’s left is the Mystery itself, the Perfectly-known-as-unknowable-Source that is the cure of all the headaches it gives rise to.

I see our grandson becoming ever more successful in his chosen profession. We have nurtured him since he was a baby (his parents were largely absent) and he is fulfilling his dream of being a writer and actor. He is still young but already has had significant successes. And, he is a stellar human being, always looking out for the welfare of others.

We are experiencing the catastrophic impact of climate breakdown here in BC right now.

Along with the true climate justice leaders the world over, my dream is that a critical mass recognize that the fossil-fuel era is over and that we will radically reduce our use of oil, gas and coal by 2030, and almost entirely by 2050. That we meet climate change with real systemic change, and defeat the fossil-fuel industry in the next nine years. That we act with calm and compassionate intelligence to transform our societies from extractive to regenerative economies.

It has been some time since I last posted.

I have a dream……….a dream which in all honesty I have been dreaming of. And that is to enter heaven.
I have been telling my wife: Your’s and mine beliefs are different. I just do not interfere in here way of belief and neither does she.
My wife is whole beliefs in payers, though I admit, I cannot pray and am more than happy to be in church in th presence of the Holy Eucharist.
The only thing I ask the good Lord is to make me believe that he is present in the Holy Eucharist.

To live an adventurous life and travels. Seeing and experiencing other places and people that my family has never had the opportunity to do.

I guess this all depends on how you interpret this question. My personal dream that lives on is the dream to travel and live in different cultures so that I can understand the world just a little bit better.
This question can also be interpreted through generations….and I am not sure. I am not sure what dreams that my parents and grandparents had that could be passed onto different generations. I guess this is an opportunity to better connect….

I just read a piece on brokenness and God’s love by James Finley, who is associated with Richard Rohr and the Center for Action and Contemplation. Partly through that reflection and my own place in life right now, I realize my dream is that I will continue to move toward feeling a oneness with God’s intentions and love for me, and will rest trustingly and solidly in God’s love. There are “smaller dreams” I have – but if this one fundamental dream comes to fruition, “all will be well and all will be well and all manner of things will be well.”

That my children will continue to be successful in their relationships with others, in their chosen professions, and financially so they can continue to do good works for others. That this will carry over-this way of living that includes helping others-to their children, and on and on through the generations.

I remember you having back surgery, Kevin. I have wondered how you are doing with your back issues.

      1. Kevin

Hello Mary, how very kind of you to ask. Thank you. It’s been a twelve year struggle, with necessary back surgery in the middle of it all. But just recently I have become a “student” of a fairly new approach to managing ones own pain through mind-body work, elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and the central role that the brain plays in chronic pain. I have needed strong pain meds over the years to control the pain, but today, I have reduced opioid use to zero, and thus far have been able to manage my pain levels by using a scientifically-based program called CurableHealth.com. I am still fairly new to the program, but thus far its been a game changer and life-saver for me! Thanks again, Mary, for asking.

I hope that this note finds you doing okay also. And…happy holidays to you and yours!

To help open and work in the first hospice in a developing country. So far, Belize seems to be the dream come true. A fulfillment of my retirement plan. Walk those at end of life over in a peaceful, supported way, support those with disabilities, enjoy life, enter a community with my heart, serve, live in the tropics, simple Zen-like, by the beach, travel a bit more, then die as I have lived. It may start to come to fruition as soon as mid-April 2022.

Having experienced the way in which hospice helps individuals and families, what a wonderful gift your dream will be to the community in Belize. Blessings and prayers for your work, Dusty Su.

Thank you, I appreciate that greatly, Patricia. I’ll/we’ll need prayers. There’s a long way to go, mountains to move, leaps of faith, situations sorted, and COVID boundaries to be braced. So, looking forward to setting up residence on the other side of the obstacles.
