Commit is one of those English words that leaves me cold… too many people and corporations espouse hollow commitment to certain things but fall short, but it is still OK. No commitments from me today. Resolve or dedication or passion or action or …. definitely.

I did a pencil sketch of a rabbit many years back. Today I hope to turn a copy of it into a thank you card some my friend Carol who recently gave me a charming quilted wall hanging of a rabbit.

I appreciate the Parker J Palmer invitation to self-care today, and the reminder that it is good stewardship of the only gift we have. Also the reminder that it is not selfish.

Will start with the Tara Brach Compassion/ Tonglen practice and take the day one breath, one step at a time.

    Warm Sunday wishes all…

    Spending time with a friend.
    Tending my garden.
Time with my sweetheart–maybe a walk down to the water.
Lemon poundcake with blueberries and good strong coffee.
I prefer lists of possibilities over to-do lists, so everything else in my day is a possibility.

R&R today. I’ve done some deep cleaning over the last couple of days. My hands are wrecked and my body weary. So I’m going for easy as much as possible.

I plan to take it easy. Have breakfast with my son and watch a movie this afternoon–the remake of “The Razor’s Edge.” Original starred Tyrone Power back in the 1930s or 40s. I think this one was probably made in the 1980s and stars a young Bill Murray in a dramatic role. Last week was very busy and very emotional. I guess I’m taking the advice featured in today’s quote! Blessing to all.

I’m going to work on my YTT studies and do an asana practice. And I’m also planning to tidy up the house, catching up on some chores, and if it doesn’t rain, I’ll go out and work in the okra field.

Today’s Word for the Day by Parker Palmer, “Self-care is never a selfish act—it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer to others,” is absolutely perfect for me to hold before me today. I, and members of my faith community, recently finished delivering our large, successful, annual Book Fair which has grown to be a widely popular community event. As satisfied as I am with my efforts, I’m needing to “give time-time,” to help heal four different wear-and-tear physical injuries as a consequence of my contributions.

I commit to letting go of all the stuff coming up right now. Fear and loneliness are coming up. I’m scared . All the stuff coming up is not truth it’s just falseness, but it feels painful.

Dear Antoinette, holding you in love dear one. I too have been feeling fear, in the pit of my stomach as of late. I have found focusing on my breath has been so healing & easing this “sick” feeling. I breathe in love & exhale fear. In & out, in & out…. Love In, Fear Out..❤️
Sending you love. You are Loved.❤️🙏❤️

      Dear Antoinette,
You are going through a difficult period right now and I think it is good that you dare to speak out. It means you feel safe here between us. And how nice it is to notice that this community cares so much about you and wants the best for you. Likewise my heart goes out to you. Your presence here is much appreciated by me. You are a beautiful person.

      You are not your feelings,
      dear Antoinette…
you are more than your feelings,
      bigger than your feelings.
      And Holly is right…
      you have us.
We are here for you and for each other…
      we care for you.
You are stronger & wiser than you feel right now…
      I know this
      because I read your posts.
You can rise above the fear and the feelings,
      but most important
      is to remember
      that you are NOT alone.
I hold you in my heart
      with love…

You have us. This community cares about you, Antoinette. You are a treasured part of here. So many times you have helped me, by answering the question of the day.

Today you might try “looking at things backwards” and remembering what it feels like in your body and soul to feel relaxed, secure, and content with this day. I wonder… if you seek to remember feeling secure, people who do care about you even if they are just on the periphery of your life, if it might ease your feelings.

I would sit with you if I could and we could talk about whatever. I’m sure many others here would love to do the same. ❤

Dear Antoinette. That there is a Fata Morgana is true, but the oasis that we see is falseness. You can exist without feelings. The feelings can never exist without you. Separate the feelings from you. You are a loving wide wide space in which the feeling is allowed to come with earnest YES, without effecting you at all. Feelings are coming like half a circle. In the beginning they are near the horizon and week. This is the moment when we can work with them easily. Once they are at the top like the sun at noon, it takes a lot of energy. You are much bigger than any feeling ! Compared to you it is only a small dot in endless space. You are always save Antoinette. Truth is the intellectual , emotional and material cause of everything. 🌅

Thinking about you, Antoinette. Sometimes it helps to stay with your breath, find a mantra, listen music, or to children playing in a park, or be nearby to others….
