Feeling of thanks to the universe for plans at the end of January will include my only grandson for an overnight and day of fun! I haven’t seen him for many years due to my daughter’s health. Feels like a huge blessing and can’t wait. He is 13 yrs old. Last time I saw him was in MN maybe 6 yrs ago but now he lives in Northern Florida. We are meeting up in Orlando area . He lives with his other grandparents.

One of my sister-in-law’s has suffered several small strokes. It’s been a challenge for her to continue painting, She had painted a beautiful turtle in shades of blue with the greeting “Seas and Greetings”. It is lovely! I will call her today and thank her.
Gentle weekend Blessings to all, 2024 is wrapping up. Will await what Spirit brings in this new calendar

thank you for this, Carla. I love the creativity of the turtle mingled in “Seas and Greetings”. I recently sent a card to a friend that was “Advice from a sea turtle:
      Go with the flow
      Be a good navigator
      Age gracefully
      Stay calm
      Head to the beach”
He is also an artist and I will share your sis-in-law’s whimsy with him today. I hope 2025 brings her steady gentle healing. Meanwhile, I want to open to what else Spirit brings in our new year. Thank you for gentle blessings!

“Tomorrow belongs to those of us who conceive of it as belonging to everyone, who lend the best of ourselves to it, and with joy.” Audre Lorde
Such a powerful quote that I must say thank you to the gratefulness.org staff for choosing it. Yesterday, I spoke with a young man who I am fairly sure was speaking to me from the country of India. I was having a problem returning a pair of shoes to Amazon and had exhausted all Internet attempts so had to resort to calling Amazon. He was very gracious, spoke rapidly with a very thick accent so I had to listen closely to understand enough to fill in the blanks (lost words) myself. After he got guidance from what I assume was his superior, he completed the necessary paperwork and sent me a code to use when I dropped the shoes at the local UPS. Before we said good bye, I thanked him and wished him a happy new year. It touched him so deeply, there was a pause of disbelief. Then he wished me and my family a happy new year with such care in his voice that I felt the energy through the phone! And then we said good bye. I admit I felt quite frustrated when I realized the call was from outside my country and the accent was so thick and hard to understand but reminded myself. This man speaks two languages. I only speak one. This man needed a job and thankfully his skills have allowed him to have a job. As today’s quote says, “Tomorrow belongs to those of us who conceive of it as belonging to everyone, who lend the best of ourselves to it, and with joy.” I am still smiling today as I write this response because that young man is probably yelled at a lot by frustrated Americans. I hope he will remember my kindness as I remember his.

Carol, thank you for so beautifully applying yesterday’s Word of the Day, and sharing your story. The energy you described is palpable. It is what the World needs now.

I second what Joseph has said,
having had similar experiences to what you wrote about,
      dear Carol.
      I know the experience,
      have had the experience,
and have felt the same way you did.
      You responded thoughtfully
      and with compassion . . .
      I know the energy
that passed between the two of you,
      and I am grateful
      for people like you
      with love . . . ♥

I can thank my Mom for being such a good Mom to me.

Added the following to my post a day later:
I thanked my Mom for being such a good Mom to me
in childhood and throughout the years.
    She was so pleased!
I think I will start thanking her more often. ♥️

Mary, your answer resignates with me. My reply to you is a continuation from the 1 to Charlie. My mom is the 1 who connected Ngoc and me through the difficult times early on.

My wife, of course, for being by my side as I continue my journey. Also, my friends from work, who have been so kind to me. I will reach out to all of the above today and express my gratitude. 🙏

Charlie, you just gave me another answer to the question. I express my thanks to you for speaking on my behalf. Ngoc introduced this site to me almost 9 months ago. I could go on and on thanking her for many things. Sounding like a broken record and attachment are the last things we need.

I never tire of hearing my husband thank me or give any words of appreciation.
I don’t think you would sound like a broken record to Ngoc.

In a traditional Asian family, a daughter living with her in-laws is never easy. Before I married Loc, I firmly decided that I’d never live with my in-laws. And now, as I have been living with Loc’s parents for 4 years, my appreciation to his parents and other family members can’t be expressed with a simple “thank you.” Loc’s side is so kind and cares for me as they care for Loc. I don’t know how to express my thanks to them. Thanks never enough for their love for me.

My Ngoc, we’re grateful to have you as well. This family is easy. Feel free to speak your mind. Beating around the bush is the last thing we need.

A certain family member comes to mind. I am hesitant to even say these words to them because I still hold a lot of anger and bitterness towards them. Seems like something I have sit with and reflect on.

Same. I keep thinking, is it “thank you for teaching me hard lessons I would have never otherwise learned,” “thank you for leaving me no other choice but to become strong”? Because it has been hard, and saying thank you seems paradoxical, but also part of healing.

Our son was here for a week. He is a delight in so many ways. I have thanked him every day but I will again today when he leaves. When I see the projects he has accomplished, I will say thank you again even though he won’t be present.

Expressing deep appreciation for life and those who make it such a rich journey comes naturally to me. So this question is making me look deeper. Who might I write a note of thanks, or express appreciation to, someone who influences my life, or has influenced my life in ways that happen everyday, or most days, that I rarely think about? Enjoying thinking about this already . . .

I have an aunt on my mom’s side. Her name is Loan Nguyen. She’d be considered a cousin in the American culture since cousins can go on and on. She’s my mom’s cousin.
But anyways, I thank her for helping me with my Vietnamese when I make Facebook posts. She’s my main Vietnamese teacher. She was a teacher in Vietnam. My favorite parts about her are leading by example, open-mindedness, and consistency. She also writes with good grammar. It’s only becoming fewer and further in the modern age.

My Loc, your Braille keyboard unintentionally added an extra dot 5 in the “a” of the word :”grammar.” So it becomes “grammer.”

I have to give this some thought… I make a point to always say thank you, and I love you so the ‘longing to be expressed’ is throwing me off right now.
    Happy Friday!

Yes, Michele- I appreciate your and Mary’s considerations of this reflection calling for deeper contemplation. As I pondered more the reference to finding what is “ longing” to be expressed, and read our writers’ other responses, I sensed that I need to sit with some humility right now and that will lead me to a myriad of “Thank yous” wanting to be expressed. Once again, feeling so fortunate for this Daily Reflection opportunity and the connection to people participating.
Ha! I know one thank you longing to be expressed!!! ——to the friend who originally cared enough to share this site with me!!
      thank you, All.

Thank you universe for bringing the method for uncovering Truth from within. I don’t know how I could manage with all the ups and downs of the human mind.
I have now been using this meditation method for over three years and it’s changed my entire life. I actually almost never have migraines anymore either !
The best part of this is that I wake up grateful for my life. I mean I don’t actually have to “make an effort “ or fake trying to come up with reasons why I’m grateful. Now it is coming from natures flow. I’m truly grateful and thankful to have the method to let go of my false human minds. I’m able to have less to actually no “noise “ of thoughts running in my head ! It’s such a relief to not have that constant chatter! Now I’m at peace more and more happy everyday!
Thank you universe for bringing Truth to us! I’m forever thankful and blessed!
