When you think of peace I immediately think of quiet, “peace and quiet” but in reality I don’t believe that is true peace. Peace to me is knowing that my son is safe and healthy. peace to me is knowing being with him and spending time with him, peace is not about quiet but rather about the things that male you feel safe and comfortable.
The pre-dawn, the heralding of the fresh, new day. The birds welcome it with their chorus, the trees with their eternal reach towards the heavens, and me – looking towards the east, watching the glow on the horizon grow brighter … the awakening.
I am very fortunate to live in a safe and peaceful place, so it’s pretty easy for me to be at peace where I am. I only have my own mind to worry about. But like most things, “peace” is a construct. Something we imagine. A state of mind. Sometimes I think of the meditator, sitting on the busy sidewalk with people walking by talking or on their phones, in their own worlds. Cars, trucks, and taxis making lots of noise. Yet, this person is choosing, searching for peace right in that place. Or the prisoner who chooses to go inward and find peace, even while surrounded by violence and oppression. It makes me think that peace is always present, even in the most difficult situations.
Peace is here with me, in this now moment. I just finished my morning meditation, I feel peace, peacefulness. The birds are joyfully singing, the sun is shining. This is a beautiful day. I intend to carry this “place of peace” into my day. Happy Saturday All. ❤️🙏🏻
My first thought was quiet like others said. Then I thought of how sometimes quiet can mean lonely. With more thinking, I remembered the gratefulness.org class that I did this summer and their teaching about perspective. So, I am going to say trying to have or nurture a peaceful perspective.
Peace is present in my cat sitting on the floor in that “bread loaf” pose with his paws curled under, in the birds twittering outside, in the cool air coming in the window, in this time and space I make every morning before starting all the doing and going.
‘Bread loaf pose’ – Thanks, Barb 🙂 I’ll look for it. My adopted ragdoll cat is in more of a dog-like pose now, or maybe I’m just not familiar with cat poses, having only had a cat for a week or so now.
I think I read that term somewhere. He’s roughly the shape of a loaf of bread when everything is tucked in and under. Congratulations on getting a furry purry companion!
Thanks, Barb – I noticed that my Rudi looks more like a ‘pork pie’ in that pose, though his haunches and of course his head would not be seen in a pork pie. He’s a 15-lb cat with very long fur. I’m loving his cat personality – he’s the first cat I’ve ever had, and he is different from a dog 🙂
Peace is present in the moment. School is about to start up again with all of its busy schedules and uncertainties – focusing on enjoying the last days of summer is where peace is at – not worrying about what the future will bring
It is a peaceful morning outside after heavy rain yesterday. I sometimes find peace within myself. Just a thoughts and emotions come and go so does inner peace. I wish that the entire population could find peace but I fear that certain regimes will always be controlled by humans with only hate in their hearts.
The definition of peace that I read one time was: peace is not the absence of chaos but how one deals with the chaos. May peace reside in all of you today.
A few minutes ago I was asking me the same question. Somebody was hurting my feelings deeply and I was asking why did I loose my inner peace though I didn‘t react outside. The answer presented itself. By watching the hurt feelings I became aware of the one who is watching. He is peace itself. I don‘t know why things happen. But they happen within peace. Thoughts and feelings come and go. Outside situations come and go. It is hard to understand why. It is HIS will. But I always can lean on his peace, love and forgiveness.
Fortunately for me, peace is present in my home and in my heart. Still, my heart aches for all the many people around the world where peace remains out of reach. For them, peace is but a hope and feeling longed for, and dream far off. My prayer this morning is for them.
Peace is not something that we find outside somewhere else. I believe peace is found within us. It remains inside of us. But due to many external factors, it gets disrupted. All we need to do is find peace within us and bring that out. I wish you all find peace within yourselves.
Have a good day folks!!

Fun, Rabbit! Peace and Quiet – but the 2 are different, aren’t they? 🙂

when I feel safe, and connected, then beyond the noise and confusions in my mind, there is peace
For me, Peace is present when I accept where I am – without needing to know why or how it will play out.

Thank you for sharing this.
When I rest in the space between thoughts I find peace.
Thank you Butterfly. This is about the meditation practice right?
Peace is present deep in my heart and soul right now……a good day!
Peace is with me right now as I sit alone in the quiet after finishing my daily meditation and having a cup of java.
Peace is present right now in the quietness of my home. Only sound I’m hearing is my cat running around playing with one of her toys:)
It’s always here – I’m sick again .
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear this news. May peace dwell in you!

Well said . I had the exact same experience today with feelings. Accept. – allow / let go . Hope you feel better now .
Dear Antoinette. Thank you for your advice. Yes I accepted and allowed and it is allowed to go also. May you get better soon dear Antoinette
In my heart, in my home, in the quiet outside. I plan to carry it into my day.

In the quiet of this moment, which I see is a gift from my insomnia. All is well. Enjoy what will be a wonderful day….
In my ❤️.
