My Aunt, she has been gone for 17 years, but she is with me daily. I have strongly felt her presence anytime I need guidance or strength. We bonded from my teenage years through early adulthood. She was someone I could openly discuss things with and she would be loving and honest. I am thankful for the time we had together while she was hear on earth, and thankful for the bond we still carry on today.

At first I felt so angry and robbed of my mother’s death 19 years ago. Through my healing journey, I have come closer towards a place of acceptance and gratitude. For this life-changing event has shaped my life twice over. Once when it happened, and again when I broke apart, shed the death of my old life and habits and was reborn into a new version of myself. I feel her with me, guiding me spiritually and for that I am eternally grateful <3

My dance teacher . She was much more than a teacher, she was a mother to me , my support, my mentor …. she stood and helped me during my troubled adolescent years through unconditional love. I am what I am because of her. We had so many plans to do, but she left early. But I know she is watching me and blessing me . I am eternally grateful that I had her in my life.

My daughter’s former private teacher, who passed away beginning of this month. One of the bravest persons I’ve known. She was aged and partly disable due to an accident years ago. It never ceased to amazed me how, living with body pains, she seemed to forget everything when getting together with my daughter, and be present and attentive. I will be forever grateful for the good education that she gave her, and for the time we spent over coffee, sharing pain and laughter.

So many friends and family have passed. I am grateful for all of them. They have taught me so much. A few that come to mind are, my Uncle Dave for his sense of humor and curiosity. My good friend and riding partner Sara for her toughness, beautiful attitude, and sense of mischief. My ex father in law Fred for so much, but especially teaching me that all decisions have their trade off’s, and that’s okay.

Too many to name. Some I never met. I just read their books. I regularly call on my ancestors and my many mentors and claim their strength in challenging situations because, I sense their energy and their love is alive in me.

Thank you, Carol. Your response really resonated with me. I’m grateful for those who came before me. I call on their courage often, even though I only know them from pictures. Sometimes they feel very close.

Laura, I can relate. I, too, feel the presence and support of many generations of the women in my family. I also sense that any growth in awareness I gain is helpful to them as well as those who come after me. It goes both ways in this evolutionary creation called life. I pray that our species will, as a well known hymn lyric urges, “Awake from our slumber. Arise from our sleep.”

At my age, there have. been many. Friends who were dear to me, and I remember our times together, relatives who made a difference in my life as well, and even some pets are included in this gratefulness…of course my mother and grandmother. They loved me in spite of me being me back then….I hold them close to my heart…

My great grandma Jewel, my grandma Mamie, my Papaw, and my uncle Johnny.

And then there are those who have passed from my life but are still living on this earth. I learned big life lessons from these people and found strength to cut the toxicity before it was too late. I am grateful for these two I am thinking of, and also grateful they are not a part of my path anymore.

My best friend and soul mate Frances. She was a constant support, always ready to listen in times of joy and times of testing. She died very suddenly just before Christmas.
I still talk to her often..

My dear mother. She gave what she could to her children, trying her best. At the end of her life, my siblings and I were all happy to be able to guide her to the door of the unknown, to care for her and to look after her well being as much as we could. This process even soothed some family trouble which was present for many years. I am deeply grateful for this process with her, and that she was my mother., all included, and I love her.

My grandfather and parents who encouraged me being creative. I was allowed to study finearts and music which still is part of my life. My musicprofessor who showed me the beauty of sound. My spiritual teacher, who never gave up refining me. I bow deeply to all of them with the deepest respect and thankfulness…🙏
