“My religion is nature. That’s what arouses those feelings of wonder and mysticism and gratitude in me.” – Oliver Sacks

In celebration of Earth Day 2016, we are delighted to announce our new Sound Sanctuary; a place where you can sit back, close your eyes, and imagine yourself sitting next to a bubbling brook; relaxing in a lush meadow; or standing in a hardwood forest. Let these sounds of nature arouse “feelings of wonder and mysticism and gratitude” in you.

Numerous studies have demonstrated the benefits of spending time in the natural world. The awe we experience when we recognize that we are part of something much larger than ourselves, impacts the way we behave, deepens experiences of gratitude, and has important implications for how we live together on this precious planet. Our new Sound Sanctuary offers the opportunity to transport and transform ourselves through relaxing with 5-minute nature sound recordings from a computer, phone or tablet.

The Sound Sanctuary can be found among our Practices for Grateful Living in the drop down list under Practice on our Home Page. We offer warm thanks to Lang Elliott for providing us with these recordings, and invite you to return often to explore our growing collection, and please leave a reflection below.
